The Master's Charity
Barrow Farm Riding for the Disabled
Each Master nominates a charity that will be the focus of the Company's fundraising during their year in office.
Master Karl Jarvis has chosen Barrow Farm Riding for the Disabled.
Since 1976, Barrow Farm has enabled people with special needs and disabilities to develop their abilities and enrich their lives through riding. Its purpose built riding centre (located between Chelmsford and Brentwood in Essex) is designed to make riding accessible for people who for whatever reason cannot be catered for at another riding school. Over 100 children and adult riders and drivers enjoy sessions at the farm every week.
Barrow Farm is a member of Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA), the British Horse Society (BHS) and the Association of British Riding Schools (ABRS). We were also the first RDA group to obtain Clubmark accreditation. All its coaches hold RDA specific UK Coaching Certificate qualifications as well as many of them also holding BHS qualifications.
"This is a local charity, based in Essex, that clearly makes a big difference for those in need … This charity is personal to me and at the Winter Lunch next year you will hear first-hand from the charity about the exceptional work they do", says Master Karl Jarvis.
