Installation Dinner welcomes Nick Dunlop as Master

Over 120 members and guests attended the Installation Dinner last week in the resplendent setting of Girdlers’ Hall.

They heard guest speaker Dr Andrew White from the Said Business School speak about the challenge of providing leadership in our volatile world: “For me, when it comes to the insurance industry, the need for reinvention is clear if it is to continue to fulfil its purpose of ensuring catastrophic events don’t turn into catastrophic outcomes for people, companies, and communities.

“This is particularly true when it comes to the context of the climate crisis we are all facing”.

Master Nick Dunlop welcomed members and guests, especially those recently clothed and also the representatives of HMS Audacious, one of the Company’s military affiliations. “This relationship is important to the WCI and what you do matters to everybody in this country. It is very special that you have been able to come here tonight”.

He reminded everyone of the four connected key themes for his year: Sustainability, Accessibility, Visibility and Enjoyability.
